When Fonteva Multi-Currency is enabled, you will need to update some page layouts for existing and new objects so they feature all the new functionality available with Multi-Currency.

Only users with System Admin permissions will be able to make these changes.

Reporting Objects

The Multi-Currency Critical Update introduces new objects: Reporting Sales Order, Reporting Sales Order Line, Reporting Receipt, and Reporting Receipt Line. These objects shadow their corresponding existing Sales Order, Sales Order Line, Receipt, and Receipt Line objects with a lookup relationship.

Important Considerations:

An important question for you to consider is who among your staff need to access Reporting Objects and records? Financial staff and administrators likely need access, but these Reporting objects and their lookup fields could prove to be confusing and distracting for your other staff who will not need to interact with them. Fonteva recommends limiting access to Reporting Objects and their fields to avoid confusion among your staff.

Salesforce provides functionality to assign different page layouts to different profiles. Read up on how to assign page layouts to different profiles here.

Page Layouts:

Update Sales Order Layout - Sales Order (R) Lookup Field:

You’ll need to add the Sales Order (R) lookup field to the Sales Order object.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Object Manager. Type Sales Order in the search bar and select the Sales Order object.

  2. Select Page Layouts. The Page Layouts page will open.

  3. Select your page layout from the table, and the editor will open.

  4. Locate and select the Sales Order (R) field from the fields available in the palette. Drag this field onto your page layout.

  5. Click Save.

Update Receipt - Receipt (R) Lookup Field:

You’ll need to add the Receipt (R) lookup field to the Receipt object.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Object Manager. Type Receipt in the search bar and select the Receipt object.

  2. Select Page Layouts. The Page Layouts page will open.

  3. Select your page layout from the table, and the editor will open.

  4. Locate and select the Receipt (R) field from the fields available in the palette. Drag this field onto your page layout.

  5. Click Save.

Update Item Layout - Gain/Loss Account Field:

Next, you will need to add the Gain/Loss Account field to the Item page layout.

  1. Type Item in the Object Manager search bar and select the Item object.

  2. Select Page Layouts. The Page Layouts page will open.

  3. Select the 21Winter Page Layout from the table, and the editor will open.

  4. Locate and select the Gain/Loss Account field from the fields available in the palette. Drag this field onto your page layout.

  5. Click Save.

Update Contact Layout - Active Language Field:

You’ll need to add the Active Language field to the Contact object.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Object Manager. Type Contact in the search bar and select the Contact object.

  2. Select Page Layouts. The Page Layouts page will open.

  3. Select your page layout from the table, and the editor will open.

  4. Locate and select the Active Language field from the fields available in the palette. Drag this field onto your page layout.

  5. Click Save.

Update Store Layout - Fonteva Supported Currencies Field:

You’ll need to add the Fonteva Supported Currencies field to the Store object.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Object Manager. Type Store in the search bar and select the Store object.

  2. Select Page Layouts. The Page Layouts page will open.

  3. Select your page layout from the table, and the editor will open.

  4. Locate and select the Fonteva Supported Currencies field from the fields available in the palette. Drag this field onto your page layout.

  5. Click Save.

Apply 21Winter Page Layouts To Reporting Objects:

You will need to apply the 21Winter page layout to the following objects:

  • Sales Order (R)

  • Sales Order Line (R)

  • Receipt (R)

  • Receipt Line (R)

  1. Navigate to Setup > Object Manager. Type Sales Order (R) in the search bar and select the Sales Order (R) object.

  2. Select Page Layouts. The Page Layouts page will open.

  3. Click Page Layout Assignment. The Page Layout Assignment page will open.

  4. Click Edit Assignment in the table. The table will refresh and become editable.

  5. Select the profiles you want to have access to the 21Winter page layout. You can press the Command key to select multiple at once.

  6. Select 21Winter Layout from the Page Layout To Use picklist.

  7. Click Save.

Repeat these steps for the Sales Order Line (R), Receipt (R), and Receipt Line (R) objects.

Custom Report Types And Reports:

If you want to include Reporting Objects and fields in your Reports, you will need to add them to your Report Types. Report Types designate which types of objects and fields you can include in a Report.

Multi-Currency Reports will be available in the general release for 21Winter.
