The Authentication Page allows for identification of customers who are already in the database and discourages them from creating duplicate records.

If you would like to create a custom Authentication page, you will require knowledge in VisualForce. Please contact your project manager for assistance.

Create an Authentication Page:

  1. From the Join Process Builder, either create a new step or edit an existing step.

    1. To create a new Step, from Step Types drop down Select the Authentication option to open the Authentication Step page. 

  2. Enter a Page Title in the corresponding field.

  3. In the Instructions text box, Type Instructions as desired.

  4. Enter the Login Title, Login Button Label, and Login Instructions in the corresponding fields. 

  5. Enter the New User Title, New User Button Label, and New User Instructions in the corresponding fields.

  6. Scroll Down to the Next Step Lookup drop down menu, Select a Next Step.

    1. When selecting a page in the drop down, pages with dashes surrounding the Page Title (i.e.  --"Page"--) are referencing default Pages that have not yet been configured. Pre-configured pages will display in the list without the dashes.


  7. In the Next Step Button Label field, Type a Next Step Button Label

  8. Click the Proceed to Next Step button OR Save and Return to Process Builder.

The Authentication Page Builder will consist of the following:

  • Page Title - This will be the header that appears at the top of the Authentication Page of your Join Process. 

  • First Step - Check this checkbox if you would like this step to be the first in your Join Process.

  • Instructions - This will be any instructions that will appear under your Page Title on an Authentication Page. 

  • Login Title - This will be the header that appears over the Login section of the Authentication Page.

  • Login Button Label - This will be the Login button label in the Login section.

  • Login Instructions - These will be the instructions that fall underneath the Login Title on the Login Section of the Authentication Page.

  • New User Title - This will be the header that appears over the New User section of the Authentication Page.

  • New User Button Label - This will be the Login button label in the New User section.

  • New User Instructions - These will be the instructions that fall underneath the New User Title on the New User Section of the Authentication Page.

  • Next Step Lookup - Picklist that determines what the next step in your Join Process will be. 

  • Next Step Button Label - This will be the text in the Next Step button in the Portal. This field will only appear if you have selected your Next Step Lookup.

  • Save and Return to Process Builder

  • Cancel and Return to Process Builder
