The Known Address Related List features all of the addresses associated with a Contact for shipping, tax, and billing purposes. You can manage a Contact’s Known Addresses from the Known Addresses related list on a Contact’s record.

Access Known Addresses

  1. Navigate to the Contact you want to work with. The Known Addresses related list will display under the Related section on the Contact's page. 

    Note

    If the Known Addresses Related List does not show up, the System Admin will have to adjust the page layout. Read Modify Page Layouts for more information.

  2. Click New on the Known Addresses related list to open the Manage Addresses page.



  3. The Contact’s current Known Addresses will display with options to edit, delete, and create new Known Addresses for the Contact.


Create New Known Addresses

To create a new Known Address for the Contact:

  1. Click the + New Address button to enter a new address. The New Address window will open.



  2. Enter a name for the address in the Name field.



  3. Select an address Type.


  4. Begin to enter the address into the Address field. The field will populate automatically with addresses. [Select] from the options generated.



  1. Alternatively, check Enter Address Manually to manually enter the address in the Street, City, State, Country, and Zip Code fields. The Address field will gray out.



  2. Enter text in the Street, City, and Zip Code fields. Select the country and state form the Country and State picklists.

  • Enter any additional details in the Additional Details field.



  • Click Save to finalize.

The Contact’s Known Addresses will list on the Manage Addresses page with radio buttons to designate the default address in the Default column. You can click another address’s radio button to designate it as the new Default address.

Edit Existing Known Addresses

To edit an address:

  1. Select the pencil icon next to an address. The Edit Address window will open with fields to edit the address in.



  2. Edit the address name in the Name field.



  3. Select a new address Type.


  4. Enter a new address in the Address field. The field will automatically populate with addresses. Select from the options generated.



  1. Alternatively, check Enter Address Manually to manually enter the address in the Street, City, State, Country, and Zip Code fields. The Address field will gray out.



  2. Enter text in the Street, City, and Zip Code fields. Select the country and state form the Country and State picklists.

  • Enter any additional information in the Additional Details field.



  • Select Save to complete your edits.

Delete Known Addresses

To delete an address:

  1. Click the trash can icon next to the address you want to delete.



  2. A confirmation window will open asking you to confirm if you want to delete the address. Select Delete to delete the address.



  3. The address will be deleted from the Contact’s Known Addresses.

Note

Default addresses cannot be deleted. If the user attempts to delete a Default address, a message will appear indicating that a different address must be made Default before the old one can be deleted. If the Contact only has one Known Address, the user must first enter a new address and make it the Default before proceeding with deleting the first address

When you’re done managing your Contact’s Known Addresses, click Exit to return to the Contact’s record.
