Welcome to Fonteva’s Multi-Currency feature. Multi-Currency allows you to enable multiple currencies in your org and subsequently your Community Portal, allowing your customers to select the currency of their choice in one Community. Follow the directions below to enable Multi-Currency for your org.

Only users with System Admin permissions will be able to enable Multi-Currency.

Before you begin, please make sure you understand the requirements of Multi-Currency. Enabling Fonteva Multi-Currency requires Salesforce’s Multiple Currencies functionality to be enabled. This cannot be disabled once it has been enabled. Likewise, Fonteva Multi-Currency cannot be disabled once it is enabled. Please make sure your organization understands and is ready before enabling Multi-Currency.

Enable Multiple Currencies in Salesforce

The first step is enabling Multiple Currencies in Salesforce. Fonteva utilizes Salesforce’s currency display functions in its multi-currency feature, so Salesforce’s multi-currency feature needs to be enabled. Salesforce’s documentation for enabling Multiple Currencies is available here.

Salesforce’s Multiple Currencies cannot be disabled once it is enabled and will introduce permanent changes in your organization. Please make sure you understand these changes and the implications for your org by reading Salesforce’s Considerations for Enabling Multiple Currencies.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Company Settings > Company Information. This page displays your org’s profile information.

  2. Click Edit. The Edit Organization Profile page will open.

  3. Locate the Currency Settings section and check Activate Multiple Currencies.

  4. Click Save to apply your changes. You have now successfully enabled Salesforce Multiple Currencies.

Disable Parenthetical Currency Conversion:

You will need to disable Parenthetical Currency Conversion for Salesforce’s Multiple Currencies in order for your conversions to display correctly on your records.

  1. From Company Information, click Currency Setup. The Currency page will open.

  2. Locate the box labeled Parenthetical Currency Conversion is enabled and click Disable. Parenthetical Currency Conversion is now disabled.

Enable Fonteva Multi-Currency Critical Update

Once multiple currencies are enabled in Salesforce, you can enable the Fonteva Multi-Currency Critical Update. This critical update will enable Fonteva’s Multi-Currency feature for your org.

Salesforce’s Multiple Currencies cannot be disabled once it is enabled and will introduce permanent changes in your organization. Please make sure you understand these changes and the implications for your org by reading Salesforce’s Considerations for Enabling Multiple Currencies.

If you attempt to enable the Fonteva Multi-Currency Critical Update without first enabling Multiple Currencies for Salesforce, you will receive an error message.

  1. Navigate to Spark Admin > Apps > Charge.

  2. Scroll down to Critical Updates and locate Fonteva Multi-Currency. Select Activate from the dropdown arrow in the Action column.

  3. A confirmation window will open. Click Activate to confirm you wish to activate the critical update.

  4. The Critical Update will activate. The Status will change to Active.
