Termed Subscription Plans exist for a set period of months. This type of subscription model gives the customer a membership that starts at the time of purchase and continues through the defined term of the subscription. This is also commonly referred to as an "Anniversary" membership.
A Schedule Job (TermBatchableScheduler) will need to be scheduled that will activate and deactivate Terms based on the Term Start Date and Term End Date (and Grace Period whenever applicable) respectively. This will only need to be done once in your system until the end date of the scheduled job has passed. Once the End Date of the Schedule Item has passed, a new Schedule Job will need to be created. See our Scheduled Jobs page for more information.
Create a Termed Subscription Plan:
From the Subscription Plans tab, click the New button. The New Subscription Plan modal will open.
In the Information section, type a name for the Subscription Plan in the Subscription Plan Name text box.
Click the Type picklist and select Termed as the Subscription Plan type.
Check the Is Active checkbox.
Scroll down to the Term and Calendar Options section and type the number of months for both terms in the Initial Term (Months) and Renewal Term (Months) fields. This is required for Termed Subscription Plans.
Initial Term (Months) - The amount entered defines the number of months the subscription will last when initially purchased.
Renewal Term (Months) - The amount entered defines the number of months the subscription will be renewed for if renewal is selected. If no value is specified, it defaults to the Initial Term.
There are several use cases where the Initial and Renewal Term field will be different. For example, "Buy now, get 2 months free." In this case, the Initial Term (Months) is 14 and the Renewal Term (Months) is 12.
Scroll down to the Additional Information section and type a description in the Description field for the Termed Subscription Plan.
Click Save. A Termed Subscription Plan has now been created.
