The Fonteva 20Spring Release focuses on providing a number of new features and enhancements designed to strengthen your experience across your org and Community Site. On the backend, new Order Enhancements simplify and upgrade the Sales Order experience for staff users handling orders in your org. Translation is also available for Community Sites, so members of your community can experience your content in their language of choice in one place. We wrap it all up with increased accessibility to all users by meeting Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.0 AA for Community Sites requirements, along with some updated security and Events improvements. Please take a look below at Fonteva 20Spring’s new features:

Order Enhancements

As of the Fonteva 20Spring release, the Invoice object will be merged with the Sales Order object. Staff users will now define Sales Orders as Invoices instead of creating Invoice and Invoice Line records. Existing Invoice records are still supported.

Merging the Invoice object with Sales Orders simplifies reporting, reduces the need for configuration and customizations to calculate totals on the Sales Order, and significantly reduces the number of records in the system. This helps you save on storage costs.

New Payment Page

In addition, a new and improved payment page is available for staff users inside your org for a simplified order payment process.

We have broken the payment process into two pages: Shipping and Tax and Apply Payment. When staff users pay an order that includes Shipping and/or Tax, they will first configure those payments on the new Shipping and Tax payment page, shown below.

After Shipping and Tax, the rest of payment will get configured on the Apply Payment page. This page can handle Sales Orders, new Invoices converted from Sales Orders, and Invoices that were created with the Line Items Receivable feature enabled. Staff can now dive into the content of an order to easily view what needs to be paid. You can view a screenshot of this new page below.

Invoices with Line Items Receivable not enabled will need to use the old payment page by going to the Invoice tab list view or the Invoice record’s Apply Payment button.

The Order Drawer also includes a new Installment Summary to provide information on any installments in your order. The complete installment schedule can be viewed for any Invoice with installments, as shown below.

This merge includes new architecture, updates to Staff UI, and some updates to the Community as well. You can learn all about the new changes and design in detail in the Order Enhancements Changes Overview document.

Multilingual Communities

Through a combination of Salesforce and Fonteva translation tools and settings, Community Sites can now be presented in multiple languages with options to translate manually or via import/export, all in one single Community.

Fonteva created its own Translations object to store translations for text fields as records. Staff can translate these text fields using Record Translation Tables, shown in the screenshot below.

Inline translation is also available in the Event Builder to directly translate fields for events.

Combined with Salesforce’s Translation Workbench and Custom Label translation, your users will have the tools capable to manually translate the entirety of your Community. In-depth documentation is available in the Lightning Guide to guide you every step of the way through manual translation, ensuring a smooth process. In addition, Fonteva provides translation for all of its Community-facing Custom Labels in the following six languages:

  • German

  • Spanish

  • French

  • Portuguese

  • Dutch

  • Simplified Chinese

The option to import and export translation is also available through Salesforce’s Data Loader.

The following are currently not supported for Multilingual Communities with Fonteva:

  • Right to left languages

  • Additional Managed Packages (Join Process, Directories, C&A Programs)

Please also be aware that users will require System Admin privileges to enable translation for Community Sites.

Users can switch between languages you offer on your Community Site using a language tab in the navigation bar. Authenticated users will have their language selection recorded on their Contact record so they always experience your Community in their desired language when they log in.

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Compliance

As of the Fonteva 20Spring release, Fonteva has committed to compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.0 AA for Community Sites. Compliance is planned for backend Staff Pages in the next release.

WCAG is part of a series of web accessibility guidelines published by the Web Accessibility Initiative of the World Wide Web Consortium, the main international standards organization for the Internet. These guidelines and recommendations make Web content more accessible for people with disabilities as well as for highly limited devices like mobile phones.

WCAG focuses on four core principles:

  • Perceivable: Information and user interfaces must be presented in ways that account for and accommodate the many varying ways users can perceive, not just visually.

  • Operable: All navigation and user interface components must be standardized and annotated such that a variety of devices with varying degrees of physical capabilities can still functionally and successfully enable user interaction, engagement, and operation.

  • Understandable: Includes careful selection of terms and verbs, defines and clarifies unusual words, phrases, and abbreviations, and also ensures that the reading level of the information best matches the widest likely audience.

  • Robust: Can be interpreted by a wide variety of assistive devices and technologies, and do so with minimal maintenance and without special cases.

Other Features and Enhancements:

3D Secure 2.0

Fonteva has updated to support the new 3D Secure 2.0 protocol. 3D Secure 2 is an authentication protocol for online card payments. It allows businesses and their payment provider to send more data elements on each transaction to the cardholder's bank. This includes payment-specific data like the shipping address, as well as contextual data, such as the customer's device ID or previous transaction history. Enabled cards will be directed to authorize with 3D Secure 2.0 upon checking out. The new 2.0 version of the technology enables a real-time, secure, information-sharing pipeline that merchants can use to send an unprecedented number of transaction attributes that the issuer can use to authenticate customers more accurately without asking for a static password or slowing down commerce.

Event Enhancements

Fonteva 20Spring includes the following Event features and enhancements:

  • Event Login Enhancements: Staff users can configure a Salesforce login page for events as well as designate authentication rules per event.

  • Single Form Per Event Registration: A single form will be captured for each event registration as opposed to capturing a form for every attendee.
