Appropriation of Taxes and Shipping (New Feature)

There is now a new global setting added for tax and shipping: Installments for Tax and Shipping.  It can be found on the App Config (Fonteva Framework → Apps → Charge →  eBusiness Preferences). When the new checkbox is checked, Tax and Shipping will be equally divided with each installment.  If the checkbox is not checked, Tax and Shipping will be paid upfront in the first installment.

Shipping and Tax Page

We now have two new pages to accommodate the new order functionality:

  • Tax and Shipping page

  • Payment Page

Previously, staff entered Tax and Shipping information on the payment or invoice page.  This has been broken out to be its own page as a part of a flow in order creation and payment processing.

When an order is being paid in the backend that has Shipping or Tax, staff users will now be taken to the new Shipping and Tax page to provide the applicable information for the order.  See screenshot below.

Shipping by order is no longer supported in Fonteva 20Spring.

Previous vs Today’s Behavior

This table shows the differences between the Tax and Shipping functionality pre- and post-Fonteva 20Spring release.

Previously

Today

Tax and Shipping for Installments were always present in the first installment.

Taxes and Shipping can be configured to be appropriated across all installments.

Entering the Tax and Shipping addresses that helped calculate the amounts for taxes and shipping happened on the payment page.

Tax and Shipping addresses are entered on their own page prior to getting to the payment page.

Staff interface would always ask for shipping information.

Not all roads lead to the Taxes and Shipping page.  See the diagram above.
