The Tile List View provides users with a robust, visual, and interactive way to view search results. Utilizing the Tile List View allows search results to include; images, action buttons (which directs users to related web pages), and long text fields for professional descriptions or company overviews. Tile List View results will always display in 3 columns IF your Directory has any Filters configured. If your Directory has NO Filters, users will see 4 columns of results in Tile List View.


On the Tile List tab in the Directory  Builder, you will have the ability to update and make changes to the following: 

  1. Enable Tile List- This checkbox must be checked for users to have the ability to access a Tile List View of their search results.

  2. Position 1 - The field selected in this position will be formatted as a heading when displayed in the Tile List View search results tabs.

  3. Position 2 - The field selected in position 2 provides additional desired information when displayed in the Tile List View search results tabs.

  4. Position 3 - The field selected in position 3 provides additional desired information when displayed in the Tile List View search results tabs.

  5. Show Label - These checkboxes are located next to each Position and Field, and will control whether the Field's label will appear in the Tile List View. For example, if Position 1(Name) field and has the Account Name field selected and the Show Label checkbox is checked, the user's results will display as Account Name: Fonteva in the Tile List View. If checkbox is not checked, the user's results will simply display as Fonteva.

  6. Results per Page - This field determines how many records will be viewable per page when viewing your search results. This is a required field if Enable Tile List is checked.

  7. Enable Tile Flip - By enabling Tile Flip, a Systems Administrator allows for an additional long text field to be displayed, along with an action button (if desired) when a user hovers their mouse over a tile result.

  8. Position 4 - The field selected in this position can be a long text field to display in the Tile List View search results tile. This is ONLY visible when a user is hovering their mouse over a tile. 

  9. Show Label - This checkbox is located next to Position 4 and will control whether the field's label will appear in the Tile List View. 

  10. Placeholder Image - The value in this field will serve as a default image in Tile List View search results for any record where the field value for the Image Field (see below) is null/blank. For Placeholder Images, this value can be a previously saved image file, exist in your Salesforce Media Library, or reference an Image URL (HTTPS req).

  11. Image Field - This field contains the field referenced when displaying a record's image when in Tile List View. The record's field value will generally be a URL. The Photo URL field on the Contact or Account is not a Directory field. It is hidden from all Contact and Account layouts, as it is a part of the Chatter API.

  12. Enable Action Button - This checkbox must be checked for users to have access to action buttons when viewing their results in Tile List mode. Action buttons are clickable buttons that will appear in the Tile List View and will direct the user to a separate web page in a new tab. The action button will only be visible if Enable Tile Flip is checked, and the user is hovering their mouse over the result tile.

  13. Action Button Field - This field contains the field and URL that a user will be directed to when clicking a record's action button in Tile List View. The record's field value will generally be a URL.

  14. Action Button Label - The value in this text field will be the text displayed inside of the action button when viewing search results in Tile List View (IE - Website).
