Introduction

Price Rule Manager allows staff users to easily create percentage based Price Rules that can be applied to Items, Item Classes, Business Groups, Catalogs, Event Items, Subscription Items, or Stores. The feature allows the staff user to define the discount by percentage, apply additional discount rules (Date ranges, min/max quantity, Source Codes, Badges, or Subscription Plans), and apply the Price Rule in bulk to multiple Items. The Price Rule Manager will generate the price rule records in mass.

How to Create a Price Rule using Price Rule Manager: 

  1. Select the eBusiness app, and click the + button to open the All Tabs page. 

  2. From the All Tabs page, click Price Rules Manager.

  3. From the Price Rule Manager Home page, click the New button to open the Price Rules Manager builder.

  4. From the Price Rules Manager builder, in the 1. Define Price Rule Attributes section, in the Price Rule Name field type a name for the Price Rule. 

  5. Additionally, from the 1. Define Price Rule Attributes section, in the Price Rule Percentage field type a number value of the Percentage discounted to all desired Items. 
    Note: The number input should be a whole number - i.e. If the Price Rule Percentage is 10, all corresponding Item's default price will be discounted 10%. 

  6. Optionally, in the 2. Define the Discount Rules section the following additional configurations can be made to your Price Rule in the corresponding fields:

    1. Start Date and/or End Date fields - Select a date vale to establish a date range of when the discounted price will be applied.

    2. Minimum Quantity field - Enter a number value if the discount has a minimum Item quantity that must be purchased in a single transaction for the discount to be applied.

    3. Maximum Quantity field - Enter a number value if the discount has a limit to the number of items that can be purchased at the discounted price.
      Note: If left blank, there will be no limit to the number of items that can be purchased at this price.

    4. Maximum Number of Uses field - Enter a number value to apply a limit to the number of times an Item can be purchased at the discounted rate.
      Note: If the left blank, there are no constraints on how many times a person can purchase the item at the discounted rate. 

    5. Source Code field - Select a previously created Source Code(s) from the drop down menu if the discount requires the use of a https://fonteva.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/userguide/pages/854241207.

    6. Subscription Plans field - Select a previously created Subscription Plan(s) from the drop down menu if the discount is only eligible for specific https://fonteva.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/userguide/pages/854240378(s).
      Note: Leave this field blank if the price rule is not related to a Subscription Plan.

    7. Badges Types Columns - If the discounted price is only available to members with specific active https://fonteva.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/userguide/pages/854241201, Drag & drop the desired Badge Types from the Available Badge Types column to the Selected Badge Type column.

  7. In the 2. Define the Discount Rules section, check the Is Active checkbox if you want your price rules to be active. 

  8. From 3.Define Price Rule Items section, in the Item Type drop down select the desired Item Type record you would like the Price Rule applied to. (i.e. Business Groups, Catalogs, Event Items, Item Classes, Items, Stores or Subscription Items).

  9. After selecting your Item Type, the field to the right will update depending on the selection you make. From the corresponding Item Type field, select the appropriate corresponding record(s) you would like the discount to be applied to from drop down.

  10. Click the Generate Price Rule button to save the record and create the corresponding price rule records.

  11. Upon clicking the Generate Price Rule button, the modal below will appear. 

  12. From this modal, click the Done button to return to the newly created Price Rule's Salesforce record.
    Note: The number of price rules generated displays below Define Price Rule Items.

How to Update a Price Rule Created in Price Rule Manger:

  1. From the Price Rule Manager Detail page, click the Edit button to open the Price Rule Manager builder. 

  2. From the Price Rule Manager builder, edit your Price Rule as desired.

  3. To save the updates made to the corresponding Price Rule records, click the Update Price Rule button to save the record.

  4. Upon clicking the Update Price Rule button, the modal below will appear. 

  5. From this modal, click the Confirm button to return to the Price Rule's Salesforce record.

How to Delete a Price Rule Created in Price Rule Manager: 

  1. From the Price Rule Manager Detail page, click the Edit button to open the Price Rule Manager builder. 

  2. From the Price Rule Manager builder, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Delete Price Rules button. 
    Note: All Price Rules created related to this record will be deleted.

  3. Upon clicking the Delete Price Rule button, the modal below will appear. 

  4. From this modal, click the Confirm button to delete the Price Rule's record.
