Creating Menu Items
Introduction
Menu Items and Profile Menu Items help you further customize your Community Portal to meet your needs and those of your users. Follow the instructions in the sections below to create Menu Items for your Community's Menu Bar and Profile Menu Items for your users to access from their Profiles.
Menu Item
Navigate to the Community Site object and select your Community Portal record. The record page will open on Details.
Click Related to access the related lists for your Community Portal record.
Locate the Community Menu Items related list and click New. The New Menu Item window will open.
Enter a name in the Name field.
Select External URL as the Type.
Enter the URL for your Menu Item in the URL field.
Check Open Link in New Tab if you want the Menu Item URL to open in a new tab when clicked.
Check Publicly Available if you want this Menu Item to be available to everyone who accesses your Community.
Click Save. Your new Menu Item will now show up in your Community in the Menu.

Custom Profile Menu Item
Rich Text Fields are not supported in fieldsets for Profile Menu Items.
Click Setup. Setup will open in a new page.
Enter All Communities in the Quick Find field.
Select All Communities from the options generated. The All Communities page will launch.
Select the Builder link for your Community. The Community Builder will open.
Click Home to open the Pages dropdown menu.
Click + New Page at the bottom of the Pages dropdown menu. The New Page modal will open.
Select Standard Page.
Select the Fonteva Profile layout.
Click Next.
Enter a name for your Profile Menu Item.
Click Create. The new page will launch in the Builder.
Click the Lightning icon to open the list of components.
Drag and drop the Fonteva Navigation components to the Content Header section.
Drag and Drop any other components as desired to the Content section of the page.
Click Publish.
Click Page Properties.
Copy the URL from the URL field and save it for later. This is your Page URL.
Click the tile icon in the upper left-hand corner and select Salesforce Setup to navigate back to Salesforce. The Setup page will open in a new browser tab.
Navigate back to the Community Sites object.
Select your Community Portal record. The record page will open on Details.
Locate the Site URL field and copy the URL in the field. This is the URL for your Community Portal. Save it for later.
Click Related to access the related lists for your Community Portal record.
Locate the Community Menu Items related list and click New. The New Menu Item window will open.
Enter a name in the Name field.
Select External URL as the Type.
Paste the Community Portal URL into the URL field. If missing, add /s/ to the end of the URL. Your URL should look like this:
Paste the Page URL onto the end of the Community Portal URL. Your URL should now look like this:
In the Display Order field, enter a number to designate the order in which your Profile Menu Item will show up in relation to other Profile Menu Items. For example, a Display Order of 1 will put your Profile Menu Item first.
Check Is Profile Menu Item.
Click Save. Your Profile Menu Item will now be available on Community Profile pages.
